Tottenham has announced their starting lineup for the pre-season friendly against West Ham at Optus Stadium in Perth. Ange Postecoglou, the newly appointed head coach, has chosen Harry Kane, James Maddison, and Guglielmo Vicario to feature in his first game in charge of the team. With a 31-man squad available for the tour, there will be multiple substitutions throughout the match as Postecoglou aims to give his players valuable minutes on the pitch.

Vicario, who recently joined from Empoli, makes his debut in goal, supported by a back four consisting of Pedro Porro, Cristian Romero, Japhet Tanganga, and Sergio Reguilon. Oliver Skipp, fresh from the European U21 Championship Final, starts in midfield alongside Yves Bissouma and Maddison. The attacking trio comprises of Kane as the captain, flanked by new signing Manor Solomon and Dejan Kulusevski.

However, Tanguy Ndombele, who appeared to be receiving treatment in a recent training session, and Son Heung-min are not included in the squad. The substitutes’ bench features players such as Giovani Lo Celso, Richarlison, and Emerson Royal. Notably, Hugo Lloris, the current Spurs captain, remains at home to finalize a potential transfer.

Postecoglou expressed his excitement about leading Tottenham in his home country, emphasizing the significance of the tour in terms of team bonding and getting to know one another better. The Australian coach acknowledged the pleasant environment and favorable weather in Australia, making it an enjoyable experience for the players.
