In an Instagram video update posted overnight on Friday, the 55-year-old star addressed the speculation surrounding his health, though he chose not to divulge specific details about the incident.
In the heartfelt video, Jamie Foxx explains the reason behind his silence during his hospital stay, stating, “I know a lot of people were waiting or wanting to hear updates but to be honest with you, I just didn’t want you to see me like that, man. I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie, television show.”
Expressing gratitude, Foxx credits his daughter and sister for saving his life, along with the support of great medical professionals. “To them, to God, to a lot of great medical people, I’m able to leave you this video,” he shares. The actor is touched by his family’s protective measures, as they kept his condition private, allowing him to focus on his recovery.
Recent sightings of Foxx in Chicago suggest that he underwent medical treatment at a specialized facility catering to patients with physical impairments, brain injuries, or spine injuries. I’m not paralyzed, but I went to hell and back, and my road to recovery had some potholes as well. But I’m coming back and I’m able to work,” he explains.
