Strawberry biscuits available for limited time

Popeyes is bulking up its menu with some new strawberry muffins and two special meal offerings. 

This week, the fast-food restaurant began offering new biscuits with bits of strawberry mixed in and topped with icing. Available for a limited time at participating restaurants nationwide, the strawberry biscuits are $1.79 each, two biscuits for $2.99 or four biscuits for $5.39.

“The perfect combination of our classic, buttery biscuits and the flavor of ripe, fruity strawberries, Strawberry Biscuits offer a delicious touch of sweetness to any meal,” said Amy Alarcon, Popeyes’ president of culinary innovation, said in a press release.

For some, the biscuit may serve as a sweet finish to a meal, noted Food & Wine magazine. “Popeyes may be known for fried chicken, but true fans also look forward to biting into one those ultra-salty, flaky, and covered-in-butter biscuits,” the site wrote. “Now, the brand apparently wants you to be able to enjoy them for dessert too.”

The Big Box ($6.99): This returning meal special has a new twist, letting you choose either eight chicken nuggets or, the traditional option of two pieces of bone-in chicken. The meal also comes with two side dishes and one biscuit.
