And with the news of a fast-moving fire in the San Bernardino Mountains, where people are being evacuated as the fire moves quickly. The Lake Fire broke out just before 4:00 this afternoon. This is from Silverwood Lake Area Cal Fire officials. Let’s say the fire is moving rapidly north, which is dangerous in terms of the rate of spread. So much so close. Let’s bring Kai Goldberg in right now to take a closer look at the situation. The fire is coming from the west and northwest and it’s very hot in the fire line this afternoon, but most importantly, very dry. There’s no specific cause for the Lake Fire in Hesperia. Still, we’re keeping an eye on the skies. We’re going to see a lot of Southern California that’s going to be much warmer today than it was Saturday as we head into the weekend and take a look at all the data. What you need to know about the fire line temperature is about 86° and the humidity is very low there, about 12%. We’re not just talking about the wind in the Hesperia area, but also in the Antelope Valley where we’re seeing some patchy winds between 20 and 22 mph. You’re seeing the relative humidity in Palmdale, Ontario, at 8% to 22%. Of course, we’ll talk about the forecast for Sunday for most of Southern California on the 4th of July and get back to you with clear conditions as well.
Thanks for joining us. There’s a 175-acre fire hazard right now and law enforcement is working to contain the Silverwood Fire right now. This afternoon. We’re seeing vegetation near Highway 138 that shows that there’s a 175-acre fire burning on both sides of Highway 138 as of 1:38 p.m. and we’re experiencing some windy conditions. I wanted to show you that there’s another fire burning near Highway 138. There’s some observations nearby. Valley Grass Valley and south of Mojave River Road, so of course we’re concerned about that because it’s starting to slowly start to get colder later this evening, but it’s going to start up again tomorrow.
And several roads in the Fox Lake area are closed. There were no reports of “injuries or damage” from the shooting, and no reports of any infiltration or evacuations. Now, as the state prepares for another wildfire season after a dry winter, Los Angeles County Fire Chief Anthony Moroney called wildfires inevitable. Okay, we’ll get an update on all of this and the current wildfire situation. Yes, you know we’re in the peak of our wildfire season. It’s going to continue through the end of this year. And in fact, we’re in our peak months and it’s clearly the middle of this summer. Once again, inevitable, we’re hearing about acres of land burning and we’re trying to get that under control. I want to tell you, it’s not too bad. It could be worse. We’re keeping an eye on the temperatures right now. We’re getting winds out of the south at about 3 mph. They’re getting winds of about 10 mph, humidity at 45%. So we’ll keep our eye on it and hopefully they’ll be able to get it under control more this evening and into tomorrow morning. I swear we’re in those dry conditions and we’re seeing some low clouds where the city temperature today is 87 degrees which is 7 degrees above normal for this time of year. Even busier than that. We’re seeing clouds around 5 to 15 mph mainly coming from that strong northwest and that’s supposed to come in for the rest of this evening as we come in from the trade winds. Here’s a look at our low temperatures for tonight. We’re talking 50s and 60s on the map tomorrow and a quick check of our temperatures tomorrow which are very similar to today’s temperatures and the forecast right now.
